Background
The M3D Micro was released in late 2014 after immense Kickstarter funding as the first consumer 3D printer. The goal of M3D LLC was to help introduce an affordable and efficient 3D printer for the home user. This was achieved through the simplicity of the printer and its compatibility with third-party software and printing materials. The printer is designed to be very user friendly with its industry leading sensor software and error correction capabilities.
Identification
The unit is a 7.3 inch plastic cube that comes in a variety of colors, and weighs only a pound. It can be easily identified by the M3D logo on the front of the unit.
The manufacturer produces only two versions of this printer, the micro and the pro, making it very simple to determine which unit you have. The pro unit can be identified with the word "Pro" on the extruder. The micro can be identified by the lack of any additional text except for the M3D logo.
