Background and Identification

The K850 is a basic full-size keyboard released by Logitech. It has a standard PC keyboard layout and includes a numpad and dedicated arrow keys to the left of the alphabetic keys. The arrow keys are arranged in a standard inverted T shape with a cluster of regular keys above—home, end, page up, page down, insert, and delete. Above them are keys to swap between devices, enabling the multi-device functionality. The row of function keys from F1 to F12 sits above the alphabetic keys and also serve as shortcut keys for common actions. The top right of the keyboard has 5 labelled indicator lights to show when you have num lock enabled, when your battery is low, and what device the keyboard is paired to.

You can identify this keyboard by looking for the Logitech logo and the model name “K850” printed on the bottom of the device. You can find the more specific part number on the bottom of the device.

The K850 is commonly found in bundles with Logitech mice. The keys themselves use rubber dome switches, and the gray keycaps can be removed with a keycap puller or a spudger. The cover on the back of they keyboard allows access to the battery compartment. The bottom of the keyboard has two pairs of feet that you can flip down to tilt the keyboard at either 4 degrees or 8 degrees. The keyboard can be paired with up to three devices at once but can only be used on one device at a time.
