Background Information
KaOS is a Dutch-made desktop Linux distribution built on the KDE desktop environment. It features free and open-source software based on Qt Toolkit. The first version of the KaOS operating system was released in 2013 under the name KdeOS. The name was changed to KaOS to prevent confusion between the distribution name and the desktop environment.
KaOS's development is heavily based on Arch Linux; however, KaOS' developers have built their packages, which are available from their in-house repositories.
