Background and Identification
The JBL OnBeat Xtreme is a splashproof portable Bluetooth speaker dock that provides amplified sound for iPods, iPads, iPhones, or other Bluetooth enabled devices including music players, cell phones, and laptops. JBL is an American company that produces audio equipment including loudspeakers and headphones. The speaker dock’s Bluetooth technology lets users play and control their music wirelessly from anywhere within a 30-foot radius. The JBL OnBeat Xtreme can also handle phone calls.
The JBL OnBeat Xtreme includes a rotating dock connector that lets users orient their device with its screen in portrait or landscape mode. An included USB cable connects the speaker dock to the user’s computer so they can charge and synchronize their iPad, iPhone, or iPod device with their iTunes library.
The JBL OnBeat Xtreme features Ridge tweeters, Atlas woofers, and computer-optimized digital signal processing (DSP) to deliver a frequency response between 47 Hz and 22 kHz with minimal distortion.
The JBL OnBeat Xtreme speaker dock includes two adapter clips, one designed for an iPod Touch/iPod Classic/iPhone device, and the other for an iPad device. iPod nano devices do not require an adapter clip for this speaker dock. The JBL OnBeat Xtreme speaker dock includes the name “JBL” in capital letters in the front-center of the dock’s front face. Its body is black and consists of two overlapping strips that form an ‘X’ shape.
