Background
Harman Kardon speakers are manufactured by Harman Kardon or harman/kardon, a division of Samsung. Harman Kardon is known for manufacturing consumer audio equipment. The company was started in 1953 by Sidney Harman and Bernard Kardon. It is based in Stamford, Connecticut. Harman Kardon bought the speaker company JBL in 1969.
In 2017, they released a smart speaker called the Invoke. It is powered by Cortana, a Microsoft virtual assistant. And in 2018, they announced the Citation 500, another smart speaker, this time powered by Google.
Identification
Though designs have since changed, early equipment could be identified by a copper plated chassis with a copper and black color scheme for panels and enclosures.
