Background

Announced on February 21st, 2019, the HTC Vive Focus is a standalone virtual reality headset intended for enterprise use that does not require tethering to a computer. It utilizes a 9-axis proximity sensor to detect surroundings. The HTC Vive Focus offers a 110-degree field of view for an overall resolution of 2880 x 1600 pixels (for comparison, the Oculus Go has a resolution of 2560 × 1440 and the Rift 2160 x 1220). The device also features Fresnel lenses which let the user adjust the IPD to fit their eyes. The original retail price for the headset was $699.

Identification

The HTC Vive Focus is a VR headset that can be identified by the frontal panel that has an air vent directly above the two cameras. The headset has a velcro strap and a plastic strap with a rubber backing. The color options for the HTC Vive Focus are blue and white.
