Background and Identification

GE is a conglomerate headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts that spans multiple industries. The company provides products and/or services in the healthcare, aviation, power, energy, manufacturing, and digital industries.

Among the products sold by GE are refrigerators. The GE Profile Fridges are a specific series of GE fridges. GE Profile Fridges don’t all have the same structure. Some models are side-by-side fridges, which have two compartments (a freezer side and a refrigerator side) with vertically-oriented doors. Some GE Profile Fridges are French-Door refrigerators, which have two doors that open to a refrigerator compartment on top and one or two doors that slide out to give access to freezer compartments on the bottom. Additionally, some GE Profile Fridges are also smart fridges, meaning they can be integrated into a home’s IoT network and controlled by smart home control centers. These models connect to Wi-Fi, meaning the user can receive alerts (i.e. that the door was left open), control fridge settings, etc. Users can access these features through the SmartHQ smartphone app.

GE Profile Fridges are box-like in structure and designed to be permanently installed in household kitchens. They are commonly made of stainless steel and black or silver in color.
