Background/Identification
In the early 2000s, Garmin introduced the GPSmap line to replace the older, less powerful eTrex models of handheld, durable mapping and tracking devices. The GPSmap 60CSx is part of the 60 series and was followed by the 76 series.
The device utilizes SirfStar III or MediaTek receiver circuits and has a Quad Helix internal antenna. Some of its features include 1000 user waypoints, 18 hours of battery life, 12 channels, and 64Mb of memory. Its LCD screen is 2.2 inches by 1.5 inches and its resolution is 240 x 160. The model number is found directly above the screen.
