Background
The Portable Power Station is the power source and control interface of the FixHub product line, and can be used with the Smart Soldering Iron. The Power Station is part of the Portable Soldering Station which will be released on October 15th, 2024.
The Portable Power Station was designed to make soldering location-independent while delivering the capabilities of a wall-powered station. It has dual USB-C ports with a 100‑watt combined output and a battery capacity of 55 watt‑hours, providing up to 8 hours of continuous soldering on a full charge.
The power station can be used to charge multiple devices from its two front USB-C ports, such as a laptop, phone, or handheld gaming device. Its single rear USB-C port accepts up to 45W for charging the unit, which goes from 0-100 in approximately 2 hours using the iFixit GaN Fast Charger.
To extend the power station's lifespan, it has been designed with a user-replaceable battery using instructions found in our battery replacement guide. The display’s user interface also includes a battery health meter, which monitors the battery's condition as it ages.
The power station is highly configurable, especially when used with the Smart Soldering Iron. Key features include adjustable temperature settings, automations to reduce soldering iron temperature and extend tip life, and easily changing units between Celsius and Fahrenheit. There are 5 languages available on its user interface: English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian.
Some additional information including the serial number and firmware updates for the power station can be found in FixHub Web Console. The FixHub Web Console is a web interface that can be used to configure settings and update firmware for both the power station and soldering iron. This interface is compatible with Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome and Brave.
