Background and Identification
The Eventide TimeFactor is a delay-effect stompbox pedal sold by Eventide, an American audio, broadcast, and communications company. Eventide produces digital audio processes, DSP software, and guitar effects. A stompbox is a percussion instrument that includes a small box placed under the foot. The box is tapped or stamped on rhythmically to produce a sound similar to that of a bass drum. Stompboxes allow a performer to create a simple rhythmic self-accompaniment.
The Eventide TimeFactor features nine dual delays with dedicated mix, time, and feedback controls for independent A and B lines. This model's delay types include MultiTap, Reverse, Mod, Tape, Ducked, and AutoPan. Each effect can be operated in stereo, dual mono, or straight mono mode, and each effect can also have its own tempo subdivision for an echoing effect. The TimeFactor model features a Looper with variable speed and loop start and end editing. It is sold with 100 presets, real-time control with ten knobs, and a MIDI or expression pedal.
The Eventide TimeFactor includes the name “Eventide” in bold font and the model name “TimeFactor” in capital letters in a blue stripe across the front of the device. The TimeFactor includes a range of dials, switches, and LED lights and is made of cast metal.
