Background Information

Originally launched in December 2008, Chakra Linux was a forked from the Arch Linux Distribution, developed by users of Arch, and made to simplify the standard KDE installation. While based on Arch Linux, Chakra's developers became dissatisfied with the lack of support of the KDE software, so on August 30, 2010, Chakra became independent from Arch Linux with the launch of Chakra 0.2.
