Background and Identification
Care Bears are plush teddy bear toys that come in a range of colors, each embodying different characteristics. For instance, Care Bear models include “Share Bear,” “Good Luck Bear,” “Grumpy Bear,” etc.
The Care Bear characters originated in 1981 from American Greetings for use on greeting cards but were soon after turned into plush toys. There have also been Care Bears films, TV episodes, books, comics, music, and video games. Aside from plush toy merchandise, the Care Bear franchise has also manufactured gummy bears, party goods, school supplies, clothing, stickers, stationery, phone cases, and more.
The Care Bear website, as of summer 2020, includes Care Bears marketed for children, infants, and adults. The website also has a variety of Care Bear related online games and activities.
Care Bear stuffed toys are colorful teddy bears that have a white stomach with a symbol or design of some sort. Care Bears also have heart-shaped noses.
Common issues with Care Bears include rips and battery failure. Rips or tears in the Care Bear itself can often be mended with a bit of sewing. Care Bear batteries can usually be found and replaced by unzipping the zipper on the back of the bear.
