Background and Identification

The Braun Triumph 9900 is a rechargeable electric toothbrush that tracks the user’s brushing habits to improve oral health. Electric toothbrushes use a motor to make rapid automatic oscillations (either back and forth or rotating) to clean teeth. Electric toothbrushes with ‘smart’ additions are becoming more common as well. For example, this toothbrush comes with a SmartGuide. The SmartGuide is a small display that is used in conjunction with the toothbrush. It is both remote and wireless, with a range of five meters. This display has several capabilities: it can tell the user that they are brushing too hard, and uses a two minute timer to inform the user when to switch sides for the best coverage. This brand is approved by the Oral Health Foundation (formerly known as the British Dental Health Foundation). The Oral Health Foundation is an independent oral health charity founded in 1971. They run awareness campaigns, a free dental health helpline, and an accreditation program which certifies dental products like the Triumph 9900 toothbrush for meeting certain standards.
