Background Information
Android-x86 is an unofficial porting of the Android operating system designed to run on x86 processors, rather than RISC-based ARM processors. The operating system is based on the Android Open Source Project with modifications to the kernel and HALs that allow it to run on PC architecture.
The OS also enables OpenGL ES hardware acceleration for specific GPUs but can run in a non-accelerated mode through software rendering.
