The Nitro 5 AN515-54 was released in 2019 as part of the Nitro 5 series of laptops by Acer. The intended users are people who want to be able to game but are on a budget or want to have a decent experience on the go.

The device is known for having hot temperatures from just a brief time of gaming. This will result in a shorter lifespan of the device when prolonged over a long period of time. All Nitro 5 AN515 products have the signature red backlit keyboard, with the off centered touchpad.

The Nitro 5 AN515-54 is no longer available on the official Acer website and has since been replaced by better and newer models. The models start off with the name of the laptop with the screen size; AN515 is Acer Nitro 5 with a 15-inch screen and the 54 is the specific model and can have other subseries after the 54 as well. Newer models are now more powerful at the same price or have similar specs for a cheaper price.

To identify the Nitro 5 AN515-54, it has the Acer logo on the back of the laptop and under the screen in the middle. Then unlike most laptops, the space bar is smaller, and the touchpad is off centered to the left. On the right side it has the ventilation, DC-in jack, battery and power indicator, USB port, and headset jack. The left side has the Kensington lock slot, ethernet port, HDMI port, USB Type-C port, and 2 USB ports. On the bottom of the laptop is the model number of the particular laptop on a sticker.
